Little Nibbles: Good Taste Touring, Feasting, and Beasting

Summer in Seattle is the greatest thing ever. There's even proof now, from Seattle's own weather celebrity. Because we're just a strange enough town to have one of those. I have been doing my best to not miss a single second of the excitement, which at times has meant writing articles by hand when the sun wakes me up at six in the morning while camped out in the mind-bogglingly beautiful North Cascades wilderness, because I'm just a strange enough person to do that--and love every second of it. So to catch you up on what I've been doing while I wasn't here: I ate a lot. See below for … [Read more...]

Little Nibbles: What to do with your (hungry) self?

A beautiful red strawberry in my garden is my first sign of summer's probable arrival (it's Seattle, we're never sure). So, here's a quick round up of all things delicious, in my kitchen, in my city and around the world…           Date night for food lovers This dinner-as-theater parody of people who treat every dinner as theater hits a little close to home at times. Gospel Brunch I was having so much fun pretending to be a photographer at Where Ya at Matt's gospel brunch I didn't even get to try the jambalaya croquettes pictured here. Luckily the rest of the food was delicious and I learned a lot from my first time photographing an event like this. See all … [Read more...]

Little Nibbles: Chicken and Waffles, Squash Snacks and Me!

A quick round up of all things delicious, in my kitchen, in my city and around the world… The Chaffle Remember when I told you all about Chicken and Waffles in Seattle? Well, a restaurateur responded to my challenge. Blue Moon Burgers invited me in to try their 'Chaffle,' a chicken and waffle sandwiched. And I'll be damned if it wasn't pretty darn good. Act quickly though--it's only their burger of the month, so you only have until the end of November (that's next week, for those of you in December denial) to give it a taste test. Squash on Tortillas In my own kitchen, I've been brewing … [Read more...]
